Cloudflare open-sources a Security Audit Skill for AI-written code
TL;DR
Cloudflare has open-sourced an Agent Skill dedicated to security audits: it scans the whole codebase for weaknesses (including AI-generated ones) and then verifies each finding to cut false positives before code reaches production.
Why it matters
AI-generated code that runs isn’t the same as code that’s safe. As shipping speed multiplies, so do the vulnerabilities that slip through — and attackers are using AI to find them faster too.
What the skill does
| Capability | Why it helps |
|---|---|
| Full-codebase scan | Hunts for common security weaknesses introduced by AI or by developers. |
| Independent verification | Doesn’t just list warnings — it checks whether each issue is actually exploitable, reducing false positives. |
| Open source | Works with agents that support Agent Skills, such as Claude Code; you can read and adapt the audit workflow. |
How to put it to work
- Developers: Make the audit a mandatory step before opening a PR for AI-generated features — especially auth, file uploads and database queries.
- Tech Leads / PMs: Add “security audit run” to your Definition of Done and track verified findings per sprint as a quality metric.
